Happy students in a Citadel classroom

Admissions 2027–28 · Open

Begin Your Application

Four unhurried steps between your family and the Citadel. We keep the process warm, personal and free of unnecessary pressure — starting with a simple conversation.

How to Apply

Four steps to the gates

Admissions are rolling from October to March, or until a class fills. For senior discipline programmes, places are limited and the February deadline applies.

Enquire & visit

Call the office, write to us, or simply come on a Saturday tour. You will walk the classrooms, all four discipline studios and the library — and have every question answered over tea at the visitor's pavilion. Most families tell us this is where the decision makes itself.

Submit the application form

Collect the form from the school office or the city liaison desk in Bhagalpur. Submit it with the documents listed below — the office checks everything with you on the spot, so nothing is left to chance. There is no application fee.

The interaction

For young children, a warm, play-based readiness interaction of about thirty minutes. For Class VI upwards, a short written exercise in language and mathematics followed by a conversation with a teacher and the discipline head. We are looking for appetite, not accomplishment — no coaching is required or expected.

The offer & enrolment

Offers go out within ten working days. Enrolment completes with the admission fee, the caution deposit and the first term's tuition — after which the house allotment, bus route, studio kit list and a welcome meeting with the class teacher follow. Then the real journey begins.

Before You Begin

What to prepare

Four documents for the file, and — if your child is joining a senior studio — a small, honest portfolio of anything made this year.

Documents

  • Birth certificate — original, with a photocopy for the file
  • Transfer certificate — from the previous school, for Class II upwards
  • Most recent report card — a photocopy is sufficient at application
  • Photographs — two of the child, one family photograph

For senior studio applicants (Classes IX–XII)

  • A small portfolio — sketches, garments, models or notebooks; anything made in the last year
  • A short note by the child — five sentences on what they would love to learn here
  • Nothing else — no coaching, no expensive materials, no preparation classes

Portfolios are returned the same day. Their absence never counts against an applicant — the interaction is where we truly look.

Scholarships — the Merit & Means test on 12 December awards six full and six half scholarships for the following year. Registration is free and open to every child of the district, and closes on 5 December. Past papers are available at the office, and the test needs no special preparation beyond a good night's sleep.
